2015 - Teo: Polisocial project for autistic kids
Teo is a robot designed to increase the functionality and social integration of autistic kids ranging from 5 to 15 yo, but tests are proving a good result also for lower functionality adults. It's based on Arduino, and i've been part of the development team as designer and electronic. I've been covering the moving base design, improving the electronic layout and its reliability. The output is a very stable and optimized setup. I've also been helping for the game interface (GAME 02 on the link) and creating physically the whole robot, from the very first volume study to the last and final one. Check out more here.
2014 - Ducati Freeduck concept sketching
We've been asked to redesign the actual Electric lightweight car, FreeDUCk, produced by the well known Ducati Energia, owner of Ducati bikes trademark. Precisely, we were asked to design a cheap, lightweight, small, electric vehicle to move 0km vegetables and fruits from producer to consumer, ensuring the total bio-compatibility of the whole process.
This is the very first concept study, based from the very first lines on a production low cost electric vehicle. Main line was defined by sketching, then rifining lines in 3D polygonal model. Check out more here
2014 - Ducati Fruiduck final project
The result is FruiDUCk, a single driver vehicle just under 400kgs of weight, included batteries, with a total power of 4KW and an autonomy of more or less 100km up to 200km, with usiliary batteries, capable of moving 250kgs of goods, whatever they are. With a 52-48% weight distribution Front Rear without loads and with driver, it get to a greater unexpected stability, with Turbo boosting on any kind of road, stip or during full throttle corners. The minimum inversion radius is 3.5 meters.
Completely engineered from scratch to FEA and dinamic stability verifications, it's under 4000€ of cost out of the factory, ready for production. Check out more here.2013 - Moving Squares
This project is a modular cardboard low-cost furniture, designed for nomad students, that needs to change apartment more than once a year. Everything can be bended and re-assembled fast and easy. screws keep it togheter. It's fully customizable, including different chairs to be kept on the wall. it's also perfect to fit small and tight spaces, normally hard to be used. It has been featured on many sites all around the world. Check out more here.
2013 - Rugiada
I've been contacted by Federico Digirolamo that already had this project in mind with some basic sketches. We started the research step, to understand the best way to design it, and make it work properly. Then i've design the cad part with nice and proper proportions, to move then to a water flow simulation software, to clearly verify the main concept. The real innovation in this piece of design is the unique eco-friendly useage. There is no choice for hot and cold water, you can only adjust the amount of water flow you need. If you choose a low emission rate, you will receive hot water, with a small amount of energy wasted. As the user increase the flow rate, water becomes colder, ending with high flow rate of cold water, saving a big amount of energy. Check out more here.
2014 - Lagostina Lagotech advanced lid
Project realized for Lagostina during the first year of Design&Engineering course. it's a tecnological lid that monitors the status of the cooking food, using temperature and humidity. it's water proof, love consumption and uses high temperature capable batteries and electronics with wireless recharging on a dock station. The lid is shaped to help the reuse of evaporating water, and is designed to be more functional then a standard lid when the monitoring unit is not in place. Check out more here.
2014 - Crocè stapler
Corcè was born during a course during Design&Engineering graduation. It's a unique stapler, designed for home makers and hobbists. Its best feature is the double staple size that allows to work on many different materials, includin leather and wood/cork. The internal leverage doubles the force impressed on the handles, so to give everyone the ability to use it without problems. Check out more here.
2013 - Sneak Honda
Concept based on a Honda frame designed for the O.J. bikes contest. Chek out more here.
2012 - Paku: your ultimate kitesurf protection
Paku has been my 3rd year graduation thesis in Product Design. It's an automated kitesurf protection and life saver, designed to allow evary user to wear it without restricting his movements, and giving him the safety he may need in dangerous situations. It activates when it senses an impact, on water surface or an obstacle, and automatically inflates a membrane, that will keep the kiter floating and save, even if uncounscious, waiting for rescue. Check out more here.
2012 - Riva1920 Canalasso
Table designed for Riva 1920 contest with Nicolò Argento. This table try to meet technology with romantic materials and a unique ballet dancer look, being inspired to Venice. Check out more here.
2011 - AEPI Settebello 2.0
Settebello II is the output of a group project. The major target was to design a mini vaccuum to fit some problematic situation we found in our research step. Then we found a mini vacuum from maybe 60s, that had nothing else that a name, a dead brand (A.E.P.I) and an original shape. Inspired by that nice object, we created this mini vacuum. Its weight is about one kilogram with 750W of power. Is wire powered to get rid of batteries. It is intended to clean from dust in some places where is really hard to get with a normal vacuum cleaner: for this purpose, we put an elastic tube. that can get from 25 cm to 80 cm lenght. It also has two different attachment for particular situations. We also created a special filter creating a particular air flow in order to separate heavy dust from anything else. Check out more here
2012 - Bird music box
This wall mounted music box shaped like a bird house is fully functional, andadaptable to any "at that year based dimensions" mobile phone. It was a cool idea i had with my professor and i realized it in an afternoon time.
2013 - Frutty
Fiberglass lamp, always standing, suitable for childrens so they can pick a slice up ant it will bring light going to the toilet ot getting a glass of water. It's also a nice toy and object by the day! This project was realised with my girlfriend Ksenia Rogacheva.
2013 - T-Birds
T-Birds is an eccentric lamp designed for Seletti. We then decided to bring it to Crocus Expo in moscow. The main idea is to create a furniture complement that could be easily become something else, that means a game of light. Birds are self lighting, and when removed from the tree, the branch turns off, but they keep glowing in the dark! Being made of fiberglass, they are a perfect toy, and the magnet on the base tip let you stick them wherever you want, that's a lot of fun for the right childs!
2013 - Rosiko design @ Crocus Expo, Moscow
We've been invited to Crocus Expo exposistion during the "I Saloni" event in Moscow city, Russia. There we've been facing with self showup and branding for our studio. There we realized this nice promotional method, to have people to stay in touch with us.
Engineering
FEA analysis on designed products, as well as technical evaluation of the feasibility
2016 - Riby: robot designed to support theraphy for adults with autism
This is a cut view of the unique and custom traction system designed for my thesis robot. It allows the adoption of only 1 mid-power motor and 1 servo to drive an over 20kgs robot, optimizing costs and consumption. The system is also making much easier the coding part. It has been proven to work perfectly since early prototypes.
2016 - Teo Robot base
I've been working, optimizing and implementing the base for this little moving robot. Everything was made for easy acces, heavy resistance, and as compact as possible. The electronics are based on an Arduino Mega, driving 3 pololu motors and several sensor. We mounted a LiPo battery onboard. Some parts were 3D printed, thus i designed them to be produced in low res FDM machines (RepRap) so that they granted maximum impact resistance.
2014 - Ducati FruiDuck FEA
FEA analisys run in Autodesk Inventor on our design based tubular frame, including welding points and real constraints.
2014 - Carbon fiber bike molds
Based on a given design, i've created the nurbs 3D model converted to CAD solid model to be tested with a FEA analisys, and then realise the 2 valve molding setup for the real manufacturing. Both molds have been realised in CNC machining and the bike was created in real life by Matteo Briccola and Mauro Bergamaschi.
